"Tuning" a skimmer

I have been told my skimmer should be putting out more junk and that I need to tune my skimmer. How do I know?
I have a ETSS Reef Devil Deluxe. I clean it weekly. I outputs 1-2 cups of skimmer output a week.

Skimmer can only put out what is put in. Lower the level in the tube in order to produce a dryer foam. It sounds like it's putting out ok. Skimmers will vary depending on the bioload and the amount of food put in.
