Okay here is the deal I have just bought a Tunze 6000 stream system to place in my 60g 48w,15d,18h I tried the Tunze in the corner and it is blowing my fish all over the place. Even on the lowest setting it seems to over power the tank. What am I doing wrong????Is the 6000 too Powerful?? or is just in the wrong position the over flow is in the L/R corner of the tank by the way.
what to do?? Do I have to buy another 6000 to balance out the tank? Please Help!!!!!!

I've got two 6000's in a 58 (36x18x18) and have it from 30% to about 50% power. It is a lot of flow, but the fish will get used to it. My little Sailfin Tang sits right in front of which ever one is on. It's his own personal treadmill :D

I would run it aimed diagonally and turn down the flow. The fish come from currents that are very strong at times, if that wasn't so divers wouldn't need those motorized sleds. I think it should be OK but if you disagree you could buy a 6060 prop to reduce the flow further.

I have 2 6000's in a 75 and a CL. I have a purple tang, 3 chromis, a foxface, and a tomato clown. None seem to mind too much. The foxface seems to be affected the most by the flow. Not saying that they all stay directly in front of it, but, they don't hide from it either. Mine are in the two rear corners of the tank.

HTH,

Dave
