Roger,
Do you have a firm date that the 6020 & 6040 will be released. I am eagerly awaiting these!

-Dave

I don't, the 9001 skimmers will be here next week. As far as the new pumps, the 6020 is slated to be released at the end of the month (July) however, since the 115V and 230V versions use different motors, it is probable the 230V version will come first and 115V a couple weeks later (mid August). The 6040 is the same for all voltages except for the power supply so it should be available simultaneously to all countries and is slated for mid August.

Roger,

I have a 40 breeder. Was going get a 6055 with 7092 controller and photocell then a 6025 for the other side of tank. Should be pretty good flow and wave action for a LPS tank. The Jebao experiment is over, they're ok but I'm not impressed. The question I have is will the 6040 pump be compatible with my 7092 controller if it's compatible with the 7096 and above? Two 6040 on a 40 breeder would be great!

from everything I've heard and read, the 6040 will come with it's own controller (dont remember the model number) but will also have a port like on the 6055 that the pump can use to be attached to a controller. So it's controller compatible, but I think you need to have the stock controller attached in the chain somehow.

I believe their is a video from Interzoo showing the controller it comes with and the port I am talking about, I just do not have the link at hand right now for you.

As kenman345 said, the 6040 will include a controller. The controller is at the end of the cord and built in (though it is removable to thread the cord through small openings). This new controller has even more features than the 7092, for example you will be able to network pumps by removing a seal on each controller and cabling them together and with Y cables you can network multiple pumps and add multiple moonlight LED's. It would be compatible with a 7092 or 7096 but the 7092 would have less functionality and the 7096 would only add a little more than what is onboard (storm mode and a few smaller details of programming). Basically, for around $140 you get the 6040 and a built in controller, networking them will add $10-$40 more in cabling per pump depending on if you want to add moonlights or not. The 7097 would add a lot more features, at least the early beta version was able to access weather patterns online and replicate them as well as graph out the flow functions and integrate with our LED's and moonlights.

Ok, maybe I'll wait and get two 6040s for my 40 breeder and put one in each corner. From the look of the shell shaped top nozzle deflector the water must go slight up in a 45° angle which would be great. There's a lot of new stuff coming out lately which is great.

Yes, we work on a 2 year development cycle based aroun unveiling new products at Interzoo, when interview ends, R & D for the next Interzoo begins. In between years have usually just a few small improvements and maybe a couple new products, Interzoo years tend to see a half dozen new products. This will be a very busy year, even more is in the works than what was shown at Interzoo so another smaller batch of new products will come in the late fall.

From what I understand, this model is meant to be a way to create a gyre circulation movement in the tank. If that's the case, you may be able to get the two switching off to change the direction of the flow, but otherwise, you might be able to just get away with one depending on how your tank is configured.

I sprung for a 7092 controller, 7094.050 night sensor, 6095 wide flow DC controllable pump (can put jumper on 12v), and a 6025 110v . I'll put the 6095 in one corner on wave and the 6025 (740 gph) in the other on constant. I had this exact set up on my 60 cube years ago and it was awesome. Had to put the 12v or 15v jumper on 6095, could not run it on 24v, the water would come out of the tank! This should be fine for my Starfire rimless 40 breeder. When the 6040 comes out I"ll get one to replace the 6025, set the jumper inside the controller for interval so they go from one to the other.

I'm thinking two 6040 would do it for my 3' tank so a 6095 is in order. Two Jebeo WP10 didn't cut it on a twins controller and they put out 1000 gph each. Had to buy one WP25 and turn it down half way to go with a WP10. I'm dumping this Chinese crap, can't use night mode sensor, the WP10 won't start up in morning even after replacing pump and controller.

Considering a Tunze DC return pump NOT the Jebao ones with a very high failure rate. Find it interesting that most of the DC return pumps from China have the same connector as my Jebao WP pumps so they must all be made by Jebao and re-labelled.

Just looked at the DC return pump, a bit much in size and cost for my 40 breeder. Think I'll stick with the Sicce 1.5 Syncra pump which is the same as Tunze's Silence pumps anyways.

Roger,
Curious if you have any other updates. Thanks for all your help you have been!

The 6020's are on the way, I expect them in our warehouse on Monday. The 6040's, last I heard (last week) all parts are now in stock and assembly was going to start soon but the supply of circuit boards was limited and they would wait to launch until they had several hundred on hand.

I thought you said that the 6040 was supposed to launch first? Guess I'll have to keep waiting

Yes, while I knew the 6020 would come first in Europe, I had speculated that the 115V 60Hz motor coil would come later and since the 6040 is the same worldwide except for the plug, stateside we might see the 6040 first. It didn't work out that way, they got the US coils made at about the same time as the 230/50 coils.

I cant wait for 6040 to hit Australia market. Do u think it will be a few months away before it arrives downunder?

I think Australia generally takes a little longer as the transport time is very long and it is so expensive they have to wait until a substantial amount of product is needed. However, I understand they already have the 9001, 6020, 8850 and 0220.010 so they seem to be getting new products at about the same time as everyone else.

Any luck with the 6020 in today? Better to order direct or someone else? ETA on shipping?

-Dave

They did arrive today, we don't sell direct but by the end of the week Champion, Salty Supply, AquaCave, Salty Critter and several LFS's will be in the first wave to have them, we started shipping today.

Awesome! Any way you can check to see if Aquarium Specialty is on that list? They are close to me.
