Tunze 6040 ETA

They will each have one and you would network them with a cable to work together as master and slave.

Now, since we use the controller with a wire connecting them, what if I use a controller from Digital Aquatics to plug into that port on the 6040's controller. What Happens when power is lost? Normally, on other devices, if it's not using a Tunze controller, the power being lost means it wont run, even with the battery harness and battery hooked up. But with the 6040, would it default to the built in controller and use the battery backup?

I assume it would work the same as in the past as to use an external controller you are bypassing the built in one, but I don't know for sure.

It is something you would have to buy, their will be 3, a simple connector, a splitter and a moonlight/nightmode connection. The connector is a simple MIDI cable (5 pin DIN), generally about $8-$12 at any electronics store.

A small shipment will come in Friday and promptly go to dealers who have preorders. The earliest orders should be fulfilled by the end of next week.

2 quick questions about the 6040. Is the dry side magnet also waterproof? I ask because i would need to place it in an overflow. Also, can the 6040 be used upside down? This orientation would allow me to pretty much have the entire pump not visible in my tank

I cannot answer definitively as I have not tried it, the 6020 cannot be upside down, but will work sideways, the 6040 may work upside down as it cannot start backwards like a 6020 due to the electronics.
