Tunze 6055 and wave controller???

I am wanting to purchase a 6055 for a custom tank that I am having built but wanted to know the lowest switching speeds of the different controllers.

I have read that the single controller isn't fast enough but can't find anyone offering the 6091 which is not even on Tunze.com.

I will be getting a 48"x12"x12" tank made and want the 6055 to be the only thing in the tank to keep it clean but also wanted the wave that is seen in everyone else tank.

The 7091 doesn't switch on and off, it only switches between two speeds.

The 6091 is on the tunze site and is available for purchase, I just checked, try typing 6091 into the search window. It switched the pump off and on from .4-1.4 seconds

The 7095 is capable of 1sec-12hrs.

I would wait for the 6206, the box adds to the wave effect and while in a very small tank the box may appear unnecessary, in a larger tank the box will double the wave over a pump alone.

Thanks...I used the product search and came back with nothing but when I inputed it into the search box up top it worked.

Thanks!

You are in Houston, we are in Austin, it will ship tomorrow, you should have it Monday.

Thanks, Tunze.com really threw me off since everything is leading to their German homesite.

Ordered last night and can't wait to get it in.

Thanks for all your help Roger!

The site is run at the factory in Germany and the cards are processed in Germany, the orders are forwarded to the distributor in each country for fulfillment.

Hey Roger, just wanted to say Thank you again for your help and hooking it up with the 6091.

I am sad to say though I have another problem.

I got the 6091 as well as my 6055 in today and have been playing with it in my Tropheus tank which is 125g and the clacking noise the 6055 makes when pulsing on is extremely LOUD.

I have had it running for a little while now hopeing it would smoothen out some but it's not getting any better.

Is there something I should be doing or something I am doing wrong? The Controller is set at the fastest pulse and it does quiet down some with a slower pulse but it's still loud. Also found that if I lower the power supply itself it quiests down some too but then it becomes worthless as far as water movement.

If you can shed some light or anything with me it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It is probably an older 6055, we changed the prop to not click last December. PM me your address and we will send the new prop assembly.

Dear Roger, I also bought the 6091 for my 6055 after read this thread. There are some questions ....

My tank is 36" x 14" x 18".
- Do I need to tune the max power (24v) of the 6055? or what is the best V setting?
- And I heard there are some "tak" / "click" sound for every 4 or 6 pulse. My 6055 bought around 3 months and controlled by 7091 before. Is it the same problem of the old design prop?
- If yes, can I have the replacement? but I live in Hong Kong.....

Many thanks for your helps.
Ken

Ken, i would use the 24v. You should contact your local tunze distributor for replacement part. I don't think Tunze USA will send across country. But i may be wrong..:D

Yes, you would need to contact Tunze in Germany or you dealer, you need the new 6055.70 drive unit and a 6025.74 disk, I suspect the pump might have been in stock for sometime.

Would you please help to check that is old or new prop?
Any I also can't find any disk into to pump.

Just call the supplier that they said there are no new version prop of 6055......
Can you send the parts to my friend who live in USA ?

It is not possible to tell by seeing it, it depends how tight the white propeller fits on the magnet piece, it should fit so tight that it takes some effort to turn it, if it is very loose it is the older one. I could send it to someone in the US for you.

Thank you for your great support !!! Just PM you my friend's address in US.

The main problem is I miss the disk ?
I never see it before ~~ :(

It is a small nylon piece at the bottom of the shaft, they don't come out, it wears down and you add a new one but they should last a long time. We changed to using a double thickness disk or two of the smaller ones to solve the clicking and some start up problems.

Hi Roger, another question want to ask.

I want to keep the water flow at night but wavebox maybe too much pressure for fish.
Can I use the DIN5 switch box to connect both 6091 and 7091 to 6055?

Most of the time, I switch to 6091 to control 6055.
During at night, I switch to 7091 manually.
