Roger,
I bought a used Tunze 6060 about 3 months ago. I was told it was about 3 years old when I bought it. About a month after I bought it I noticed that the 6060 was stopping for no apparent reason. Initially I thought maybe because it was used it may have had calcium buildup on the impeller and soaked it in vinegar, but it happened again after a few days. I have noticed that if I unplug the pump for an hour or two it would restart without any problems. I spoke to the person I bought it from and he said he never had any problems though he had put it on a timer. I have since put it on a timer to go on when the actinics go on and off when they go off. I haven't noticed a problem since I did this. Any idea what could be the problem? Is it the impeller or the motor? I did not take the impellar off, do you think something could be stuck in the impellar housing? TIA
