tunze 6095 with 1" thick tank?

I would like to add one more tunze 6095 to my tank ... the challenge lies in that the area I want to mount it is on the back of the tank .. in that area, I have 3/8" acrylic over 1/2" glass ... the tank builder uses the acrylic to create the back wall and overflow teeth ...


I have heard of folks using strong magnets on the outside of the tank to handle this issue ... what strength magnet do I need? where do I purchase it from ?? anything else I should plan for?

The strongest magnet set we have is for 3/4" and even them the hold is weak so a sharp angle on the pump could cause it to fail. Anything stronger would be a DIY proposition and this is tricky, you would need to use Neodymium magnets but they deteriorate rapidly when exposed to moisture and salt so they would need to be covered in some way. I think the best option will likely be a Stream Rock 6200.250 which will hold this pump.
