Tunze 6100 in a 70RR or 58RR

I am going to put a pair of 6100s with magnets to put in a 70RR. I want to get an idea of how big they will be in the tank.

Anyone have a photo or two of what it might look like. I would also be interested in a photo of a 58RR or the tunze on the hangers and not the magnets.

I want to place them on the back glass and point them at the front middle to disperse the flow even more.

I am also concerned for the amount of heat they will put in the tank. Any experiences?

That is a heck of a lot of flow for a 70, unless it is bare bottom and SPS only I think it is too much. The heat will be pretty minimal, figuring you will likely run only one at a time I would guestimate a temp increase of about 2 degrees. A 6100 raises the temp of a 100 gallons by about 1.8 degrees. The pumps are roughly 4.5" deep and 4" around

Approximately, but how many people need 6500gph on a 100 gallon aquarium? Typically you would use 2 6000's (3700gph) and have a temp increase of about 1.4 degrees assuming both were constantly at full power.

But only if it was running at full throttle 24/7 correct? Which not many people with the controllable pumps do

Yes, that is correct, that is based on the full pump wattage going into the aquarium. From a relative stand point, I know my Eheim 1060 which does about 690 gph will raise 100 gallons about 3 degrees.

if you have them on the multi controller, you don't have to run them full out right? Can't you cycle them between 30 and 80% or somthing like that? It's nice to have that bit of breathing room if you ask me :D

I was planning on puttting 2 6100's in my 90.

yes

i run mine from 50 to 100 on all of them

I will be running mine at about 65% and alternating them. I would like to have some overlap but not sure if the 7095 will do this. I like to run 5minutes with #1 on, then 3 minutes with #1 and #2 on then 5 minutes with #2 on. It then starts all over again.
