I just installed a brand new tunze 9002 in my tank. It has been running for 48 hours and there is no sighn of any foam (Dry bubbles). I set the blue screw so the bubbles are even with the bottom of the collection cup. I am not sure what to do. Any advice would be great. Thanks

Are you getting bubbles in the skimmer body? Usually takes about 2 days for the foam to start rising but at times takes a few more days and in rare cases a week or two to kick in fully. How do you have the screw set?.... try about 4 full turns open.

As Shawn said, it is not usual for the skimmer to start immediately, it takes a while for it to break in. What is in the tank and how long has it been set up?

The tank is a new 29gal but i used water from my established 125. There is about 50 lbs of rock. a few zoos and a pair of clowns. When i try 4 turns on the screw the collection cup over flows with clean water. Thanks

mine took nearly 2 1/2 weeks to start skimming...be patient with it and adjust like manual says the when you start getting foam trying to rise open the blue screw a little at a time till you get it where you want

Nohatch, instead of adjusting the screw try this, leave it at 4 turns and raise the skimmer about 1/2", so the waterline is 1/2" above the water, you will get a much drier foam this way. The US spec pump is just a bit stronger than the European version so raising the skimmer makes it easier to adjust and gives the foam time to dry out.

Thanks for your help. I am starting to make foam now with the water at the waterline and 3 turns. I do have some micro bubbles. Is this normal? Thanks again

Tunze guru's! I have a tunze nano skimmer I purchased used. The first few days it worked wonders, I then took it out to move some stuff around and put it back in and for the past three days it hasnt stopped the microbubbles. They are going crazy! So I took it apart and cleaned it. What shall I do?

When you did this tank cleaning were any new additives put in the tank? Did you stir up a lot of sediment?

Aquamend was used. But its been about sive days since and the skimmer is still going crazy. A water change has been done as well.
