roger,

i have been trying to find loose voltage in my nano take for a few months now. and found the source being my skimmer. i pulled out my pump and it looks like this now. (promise it isn't photoshop'd)

is something like this covered under warranty? or do i have to just buy a new one? ordered 1/31/12.

thanks for your help.

The only way I could imagine this would happen is if the pump locked up or ran dry, without water flowing to cool the pump they can overheat and melt down, they will generally shut down though before getting to the point pictured but can cycle on and off as they cool down and restart. You could send it in, but if it was found to be due to neglect and calcium locking up the impeller it would not be covered under warranty, I would however discount a replacement.
