Tunze 9002 Wet? Roger think you can take a look?

Hello I have a tunze 9002 skimmer and it seems to be skimming only water. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get it to start skimming waste?

How far in to do you have the blue screw? Have you tried putting it in a turn or so at a time to see if it keeps filling wet?

Either raise the skimmer a little (1/8-1/4") or close in the venturi screw.

See the problem i'm having is that im following the directions opening the venturi screw until foam gets to the bottom of the return cup. The only problem with that is that i think after a few seconds the foam is too much and it ends up spewing water instead of waste. Do you have a good way to adjust the skimmer for optimal production like i heard open it a few inches then check it back in a hour open it again etc etc something like that but i dont know the process. please help.

I would disregard the manual as far as adjustment goes, the correct way to adjust any skimmer is basically to do what you said, set the screw about 3 turns open and open or close it one quarter turn per day until you get the skimmate you want, close it if skimmate is too watery, open it if it is too dry. It can be a slow process but the skimmer takes time to respond to adjustments.

ok Roger, Tonight Ill go and clean the filter out close the valve all the way open it 3.5 turns and then keep adjusting it. Think that will do what I need it to? Reason I'm asking is that I don't think 3 turns will do much for it 3 turns before didnt even seem to produce bubbles!

Yes, the key is to make adjustmenst slowly, if the cup fills with water, close 1/4 turn and wait a day for the result. Don't make big adjustments and expect an instant result.
