Tunze 9004 skimmer not skimming as it was??
Hi guys and gals, just cleaned out my tunze 9004 skimmer which I completely disassembled. I have everything back in the correct position. 100% sure, but the bubble formation is only reading half way up the collection cup shaft. Any ideas on why this is happening? Also do I need to retune the skimmer with the air valve fully open then gradually close it again? Thanks in advance

It can take some time to resume normal operation, if you only cleaned the skimmer, that should be about 6 hours, if you cleaned the tank as well and suspended some sediment, did a water change etc, that could be as long as a couple days. It is best to always start with the air fully open and adjust it afterwards. The only mechanical causes would be a kinked or pinched airline, disconnected air intake fitting or broken/damaged needlewheel.
