Tunze 9010 setup?

I ordered a Tunze 9010 for my 120, and I am trying to get my plumbing done and I don't have my Tunze yet. I want to set up the skimmer outside of the sump. Will the Tunze suck its own water out of the sump, or do I need to feed it water somehow. If I need to feed it water, I want to split my drainline and send part of the water to the Tunze, if I don't need to feed the skimmer, even better, I can put it anywhere.

ps. If I like the skimmer, I am going to get the Calcium reactor, so if you have any suggestions or ideas how to plumb the calcium reactor outside the sump, or in conjunction with the skimmer, let me know.

Since the skimmer body is not 100% sealed, the skimmer needs to be in water. Until your sump is built, why not place the Tunze in the main aquarium?

Use the "internal" (in-tank) configuration and mount the Tunze with the water level at the "blue line" marked on the exterior. Later, you can configure it for "cabinet filter" (in-sump) mode and move it to your new sump.

I have a sump, but from the poorly translated manual, it says it can work under cabinet in a recirculating mode. To me that means it sits outside of the sump. If you can't run this outside of the sump I think I made a mistake. It is small, so it would fit easily, I just really wanted to run my Skimmer and Calcium reactor external so I could have as much room for my refugium as possible.

By recirculating mode we mean that the water recirculates within the skimmer for a plankton safe operation, this is done by closing the shutter and assembling it without the outlet pipe. It has to go in the sump or in the tank.

What type of calcium reactor is it?

I was planning on the Tunze CR, but I may reconsider. The skimmer is small enough to fit in the tank, but every website says you can run the 9010 in the aquarium cabinet, i guess it is a bad translation that needs to be fixed to say it operates in the sump. I am going to assume I can't put it in the drain chamber, I do not want it in the refugium, will it be ok in the return chamber?

In Europe they generally refer to sumps as cabinet filters. It would be better in the drain chamber as in the return chamber the few bubbles released will enter the aquarium through the return pump.

I thought the drain chamber was too volitale for the skimmer, but If I can put it there then I will be ok. Is there any issue with putting th CR in the drain chamber?
