Tunze 9011 not happy at all

Hi roger they replaced the entire skimmer for me and this time it came with instructions! Lol so i did like it says 3 full turns on the knob and let it run for 72 hours it says due to the skimmer cup and opening in the lid is required of covered what does this mean?

When covered * this is in the instructions when they talk about 3 full circles on the knob

Yes, the instructions were revised because in many cicumstances it is not possible to get a foam head so quickly especially with a new skimmer in a new tank. What they are referring to is that the cup and lid must be seasoned by use and covering of biofilm, etc, for a foam head to reliably build. The revises instructions are to start with the screw open 3 full turns and open and close in 1/4-1/2 turn increments as needed.

Sorry roger i dont understand what you said? What does it mean by due to skimmer cup opening lid is required?

The skimmer cup lid must be installed due to the opening at the top, otherwise the foam will rise out and exit.
