tunze 9410 overfoaming - NEED HELP

Did you already get the new pinwheel? If so can you humor me and check the model number on the pump? You may need to dial the air back for a while.

yup got the pinwheel and installed today. the pump model 9410.04A.

by dialing air back are you reffering to the blue nozzle? I have tried adjusting it every way, in the video I have it unscrewed

Ah yes I see it now. Try screwing it mostly shut and letting it run for a while. If you dump a few cups of the water out see if it slowly dials itself back and stops filling the cup. They are pretty sensitive since the body is small and right now the water tension might just be a bit high.

In the video, the anti overfoam system is activating (when the water comes out of the side hole over the bag with some force) this cuts off the air (you can see the overfoaming stops briefly). This will usually happen if the surface tension of the water is high due to an additive or filter media. I would raise the skimmer a little, so only about 6.5" are submerged. I would also close the air screw almost completely and slowly open it up. Keep in mind that less air equals more water so the skimmer may not run perfectly, you will have a lot of water pouring through. The goal will be to run it this way for a few days, dump the clear liquid that is collected, and after a few days you should be able to open the air more and lower it to 7" submerged and get things to normal operation. You might also double check that the top of the filter bag support is flush with the top of the pipe or even a little lower.
