I just got this today and it amazing. So compact and quiet! You can't even here it when it turns on.

Thank you, it is really just a laptop cooling fan (really just about every aquarium fan is just a computer fan) and we add the clamp, power supply, packaging, instruction and warranty. We can't take too much credit for it other than we went through dozens of fans to find that one. Be sure to only use it on an open top tank, any condensation drops that fall in the fan can kill it.

Roger,
My pleasure and my wife thanks you! I turned it on last night and she couldnt even tell it was running. The one that came with the tank sounded like a vacuum cleaner and was bulky. I do have a question...I am thinking about ordering another one for the tank and was wondering if I can piggy back the ubs cable from on unit to the other and have them be powered off of one outlet?

I don't have an immediate answer, I need to try it and see, there is no stated wattage on the fan, the power supply can deliver .5W continuosly and 1 max at 5V. It consumes 3W at 120V max. I will need to get a watt meter reading of one that is running to know for sure. I would assume it is safe as obviously in its intended application it has to be able to power other USB devices one would connect to it but I want to be sure, I would say if you have a Kill O Watt and see that it uses only 1.5W or less when plugged in you are safe to add a second. Otherwise, bump this, I will try to test on Tuesday. Monday is just too crazy for me to get it done and I am under the gun today because the phone company cut our lines by accident this morning and I lost a lot of time getting that squared away.

It's quiet but it's not cooling my tank. It might have slowed down the increase in temp but still didn't keep it cool. Not sure if I should try to mod it a little so it points down, add a 2nd or send it back.

Plus I saw the same exact fan for a laptop online today for only $20 bucks, the power adapter was another $20. So I am feeling a little ripped off right now too.

This is true, you can build one with no warranty and factoring shipping for about $60-$70, given your time and that we guarantee the fan for 2 years, $80 is not a bad price, you also need a USB A-A cable, a clamp and some plastic welding adhesive. The most a fan can drop the temp is about 3 degrees F and this is regardless of fan size. A fan works by dissipating the insulating blanket of water vapor over the tank to encourage more evaporation. If the tank is closed in by a canopy or the room is very humid the effect is far less. The only way to further increase evaporation is to dehumidify the room or increase the surface area at the top of the tank by more turbulence. Unless the fan is so strong as to create surface turbulence, a bigger or more fans will not have any real effect. I don't know how big your tank is, but in general you will use one fan per 4ft of length and 2ft of width.
