They mount on the edge of a tank with a clamp that is attached to the fan. They are intended for use on a tank and the fans seem to hold up as long as they don't actually get wet. They work on glass tanks just fine even with a frame but will not work on acrylic if it has the typical top bracing with small openings.
At this time only a few local stores in the south are stocking them. The closest one to you is AquaTek in Austin, they may be able to send you one, their number is 512-833-7546. I am sure any of our mail order dealers could arrange to get one to you.
do they mount on the tank and blow directly on the water or across the water surface?? also, do they come with all of the cables and wires needed? Thanks.
They mount on the tank and blow across the surface, the idea is that you dissipate the cloud of evaporation and encourage more evaporation as a result, it usually drops the temp of a small to medium tank 2-4 degrees. Everything is included.
great - on the pictures, it made it look like it blew straight down ... thanks - i am slowly working my way to only tunze products ... now you guys just need a whole system controller
Is it possible for you to post some pictures of these units? I want to see if I can use them on my acrylic tank. It would be nice to see some pictures of the mounting options. THanks BILL
Cut and paste the above link in your browser, for some reason the hypertext isn't working for the tail end of the link. You can download the manual and read all the info from that link.
I am still not clear but I don't think I can use these on my application. I have an acrylic tank with 3 squares cut out of the top. If I understand that manual correct there is a C clamp on the back of the fan bracket. Just not sure if the fans blow down on the water or across. If they blow across like the pitcure shows I don't understand how the C clamp functions.
