hello, having some problems with my ATO,when the water level gets too low, the "pump" light turns on but the pump isint working. ordered and installed a brand new pump and still nothing. is there anything i can do to try and fix it? thank you!

did a little checking. checked both pumps with nine volt battery. both work perfectly. snipped of the factory connectors (looked a little corroded, not much, but worth a shot) direct connected to the pump, and nothing... that means im not getting power to the pump even when the sensor is telling pump to kick on. i unscrewed two little screws from back of controller to inspect wiring, and all looks good. nothing corroded, nothing coming UN-done. what could it be? any ideas? suggestions? thanks in advance!

The 5017 is the part number of the controller for the 3155 so they are basically one in the same.

How old is this controller? Did you happen to notice if the blue disk on the board has melted the top cover you look at, it could be a small melt spot inside, brownish/yellowish discoloration of the blue disk or a glossy different looking area on the face. This blue disk is a sort of circuit breaker for the pump and if the wiring or connector is corroded it will heat up.

All LEDs work and no melt on the plastic cover and blue disk looks nice and clean...hmmm I can't seem to see and burned out or corrodid connectors..

This would be the screw connectors for the pump, we are looking for rust on these and wiring that is anything other than shiny copper.

Do you know how old the controller is?

the pump was ordered from dr. fosters and smith on 12/15/2012. so i guess like 20 months maybe? what exactly is the screw connectors?

OK, it is much newer. What I was describing was an old part where the pump connects, yours would use a squeeze clip to connect the pump, those don't tend to corrode. Are you sure the pump is firmly connected in those clips, you squeeze them, insert the wire and let go.

yes, i tried that a few times, then even snipped them off thinking they might be corrodid inside and tried direct coneection. still nothing..

I think the only way I can figure this out is if you send it in, it sounds like the relay that would switch the pump has a cold solder joint and it sounds like a warranty issue.
