Hello all so I installed a tunze ato on my 57 g rimless tank ..I evaporate about 1 gallon a day ... how often do your atos turn on ??? Mine is going about 2x an hour very little amount ..is this normal r proper

You have an open top so you're going to fly though top off water. My tank is over 100 hundred gallons and top less too. However it's also under an ac vent. I go through at least 2 gallons a day. The tunze is very sensitive but twice an hour seems like a lot. Although I've never watched /heard mine that closely. Nor out of the realm of possibility considering how sensitive the water level sensor is to minor water level drops.

My Tunze 5017 has always topped off about 1-2 times an hour. Not a lot but a quick little pump. Keeps my water level extremely stable.

My Reefer 170 goes through about 1 gallon every day or day 1/2. I was burning through the 1.5 gallon ATO that Red Sea provides with the Reefer series tanks. Got sick of my tank burning through it in a day or two so I through on my Tunze 5017.

I have a 85g total and the ATO comes on twice an hour this time of the year, a little less during the summer months.

Mine ran frequently as well on my 60 cube. I have an extra Apex port open so I set it to turn on for 30 minutes and then off for 3 hours. I work from home and my tank is in the office so it was getting annoying lol. Once the 220 is setup ATO will move to the garage so it won't be as much of an issue.

I also would like to move my sump/ fuge/skimmer ato to the basement and just have the display on main floor
would be nice with a slop sink next to sump

Yep, fuge will be in the garage and I can tee off for when I want/need to do a manual water change. And I have a utility sink there :D. If the Florida temps don't affect it too much I may move the sump out there as well.
