I just purchased & setup a Tunze calcium reactor 3174/3 on a 50 gal reef tank

On reading the owners manual there is no mention of maintenance?

Should the media camber be cleaned out before refilling?

No, as long as you use our media their is no need to clean it. Our media is an industrial by product which is pure calcium carbonate so their is no residual debris from the reaction.

Clean the pump periodically and check the CO2 dosage, also calibrate the pH electrode so your readings are correct.
