Tunze DOC 9011 & 9016 Skimmer Size Chart for a Small Space

Hi, I'm in the market to upgrade my skimmer and I'm considering a Tunze DOC 9011 or 9016. However, I have some questions relating to it's size as I need to fit it into a very tight area. My application is a little unique. I have a 75G tank with a built in sump with four champers (overflow/filter, skimmer, filter, return area). The tank currently produces a light bio load, but I have plans to increase the load in the future in addition to additional LPS and SPS. My skimmer chamber is approximately 6"long X 3.5" wide X 22"ish tall. As such, the with of the skimmer needs to be very small.

As I understand it, the dimensions for the 9011 is 4.9 x 4.4 x 16.8 and the 9016 is 4.9 x 4.4 x 18.8. Do these size charts factor the cup and body or just the body? If they include the cup, does anyone know the measurements of the body? In my case I have ample space above the sump/tank (aprox 5x5") to house the cup under my hood. Additionally, with my hood raised I won't have any limitations for cup removal. Also, what is the recomended water depth for these two units? Does anyone have any recommendations for my scenario? If it would help I could provide more accurate measurements in addition to photos.

Thanks in advance for the assistance.

I don't know exact but the box is about 12.5" without the cup.

Without the standpipe kit the water level needs to be 9.5 to 11.5". Using the standpipe it is rated down to 4".

I don't have much experience with them but Roger has said before he prefers the 9011 to the 9015.

Thanks Shawn, Attached is a pic of my current setup/space limitations if it helps at all.

My only confusion is you say the sump chamber is 6”long X 3.5” wide X 22”ish. 3.5" is not wide enough for these skimmers

Shawn,
Thanks - My question was regarding the advertised size of the skimmers. Are the measurements of (9011 is 4.9 x 4.4 x 16.8 and the 9016 is 4.9 x 4.4 x 18.8.) considering the cup or just the body? If they are only considering the body, than they won't work for my application. However, if the cup is considered in these measurements I'm interested to learn the dimensions of the body.

Thanks again,
Chris

Shawn,
Thanks once again. Given that none of these will work for my application, do you have any alternative recommendations? I was considering an Aqua C Urchin or possibly two Tunze 9002's.

Thanks again
Chris

Both would be undersized. Maybe an urchin with an upgraded pump... Not huge fans of them but with limited space might be best. With that foot print there isnt alot to choose from and it looks like hanging a hang on etc... wont work
