Tunze External 1073.008

Trying to plump a tunze 1073.008 as a external pump for a reactor, but it leaks, a lot, from the suction side. The impeller cover is very loose. Seems to only be held in place by an o-ring when hard plumbed. Should there be a mechanical catch of some sort?

If it is just the o-ring, I may need a new ring. Perhaps mine is too worn to hold the parts by friction

The cover over the plate with the ring should still be used, it is what holds everything together. You just pop out the flow adjustment knob so you can thread in the barbed fitting.
