Tunze magnets

Can the magnets on both sides of the tunze be submerged in tank water? I ask because I want to run one on my overflow box.

If I remember correctly, they are ferrite magnets. The bond is weaker than their original magnet which I don't like, but in any case, they are not supposed to rust. You can confirm with Roger from Tunze.

The wet side and dry side magnets are the same with Tunze pumps. They are all very well sealed. At least they are on my 6105’s, 6205’s and 6095’s. Running them off an overflow should be no problem.

Tunze has a forum in the vendor section here at Reef Central. You can post your question there too but I would suggest including the model Tunze you are talking about.

If you have any reservations about doing so just use a ziploc bag on the magnet in question.
