But they left them at the front door. :D

My new 6025's arrived today. A big difference from the older ones. The pump also seems to be made better. No problems what so ever with start up like the older models. I will still break it in before putting them on a wave maker but seems like it is not necessary with the new ones. The clips for the bracket are much stronger. I think Tunze can finally say that the 6025's are a great quality pump.

They didn't leave them, I had to sign a slip and they delivered the next day? I can't figure out what you're getting at . . ?

Either way, I have the new clips, I'll be replacing tomorrow and I have to say Roger at Tunze is awesom! It would be so nice if you could order with such confidence with all other vendors.

Flow is the same. The impellor assembly is different. There is a metal O ring around the impellor shaft. The base of the shaft appears to be constructed differently. The dont think the shaft is removable (I didnt pull hard at all). They are not premodded, if they were , we would have no toys to play with. :)

So do you guys think that a modded 6045 will out pump one of these new sure grip or gulfstream maxi jet mods?

Which maxi jet are you comparing it to?

The max flow a 6045 can do is 1500 gph at 10W power draw, after full blast mod and fitted with a slightly trimmed 6055 prop. Mine is still kicking nicely, no cleaning needed so far, that is about over 6 months in continuous operation.

I read somewhere that the gulfstream 1600 is rated 17W with the use of a 1200 pump? I must say the maxi mods are looking good now, so it can easily be done to pump out 2500 gph after overdriving a maxijet 1200 to maybe 25W.

Just an FYI.
Kragen/Pepboys has the same thing with a black carrying case for $9.99 sometimes.
Its a Makita, err, Nokita actually...

You COULD spend some bucks and buy a Dremel but why?

I use one of the Chicago Electric rotary tools in my DIY projects and it works fine IMO. Best of all they can use Dremel bits also :)

"2500 gph after overdriving a maxijet 1200 to maybe 25W"

And how exactly do you plan to do that ?

I have explained in detail how I did it in this thread.

Sorry I misread you thought you were asking how I did my 6055 2,900gph mod.

hows the modded 6055's holding up..?

I also explained after one month of running, the Hegan? magnet prop driver could not withstand the force by the 6055 motor and wore out, I had to put the Tunze stock prop and driver back in and it is doing about 350 gph to 1700 gph on my single controller now.

so I've read pretty much all the pages on this and I'm tossing up the idea of changing my seios to the 6025 modded. I'll have 4 in my tank. is a 140, dims are 55x24x24. Do you guys think they will do good in the tank? I have 2x1100's and 2x1500 seios in there now on the seio controllers. Has anyone ran the modded pumps on the seio controller and had any long term luck with them?
