Tunze nano R/O unit

I have been thinking of getting a Tunze Nano R/O unit and have only seen the carbon block refill cartridge as a replacement. Is this the only cartridge that ever needs replaced or is the unit a "throw away" when the R/O membrane needs replaced?

The membrane is available as a spare part 8515.500 average life is about 12 months.

Yes, you can get the membrane as a spare, life of the membrane will vary with the quality of the tap water but it is generally 12-36 months. The membrane is an odd ball custom membrane, they sell for $66.56.
