Tunze nano skimmer adjusting

Im having problems ajusting my tunze nano skimmer, its either not enough air to create the foam tower, or too much and fills up my collection cup with water. Is it because of my low bio-load (just added live rock) or something else?

The 9002 does take a while to run in you may also try a different height for the skimmer from the blue water mark on the skimmer body try it a little lower.
Plus all the other new skimmer stuff such as re assembly in case something has moved in shipping and then follow the original instructions regards air flow from the blue screw.

I generally find that this is solved by raising the skimmer about 1/4-1/2". The blue water line on the skimmer should be about that far above the water surface. When set this way the former setting that gave you just a cup of water should start to skim properly.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention its the other way round if you are not from the land down under thanks Roger got it backwards.

I have the same problem. My 9002 is part of the nano reefpack though. So if I raise the skimmer, the filter with its overflow follows. I find that for the filter to work I need to have the water line above the blue line. Otherwise the filter pump will fill the entier tank with airbubbles.
Are there any other ways to adjust it. Mine is still new, so maybe it becomes easier after some time.

The problem on US models vs 230V models is our pump is a bit stronger so it should be set higher. This problem solves itself if given enough time as the pump and nozzle get dirty and the efficiency is lowered. On a Nano Reefpack 200 you can stagger the components. The holder the magnet holders are screwed onto have two holes so you can set the filter deeper than the skimmer. It is very helpful if you have an aluminum, stainless steel or a childs screwdriver toy made of plastic. The magnet will keep pulling the screwdriver away from you if you use an ordinary carbon steel screwdriver. In a pinch a pull tab from a coke can will work as well.

i cut the magnet into two pieces, and then placed the nano filter on one side and the skimmer on the other.

ok its working better now, every once and a while foam is made and spills over, i get a light tea color skimmate now, with a higher bio-load and a bit more adjusting i should be able to get a darker skimmate
