Tunze nano wavebox in a 110g

I wasn'r sure how much wave action I would get out of the nano but did not have room for the full sized one. I wanted more polyp movement for the corals on the far side of the tank and needed something to help kick up and suspend the detritus for cycling it to the sump. I'm pleased on both accounts

The video was taken a couple hours after installation and you can see just how much junk (aka detritus) is floating around. I may run a filter sock for a day or so just to help clean up the mess.

and thats just the wavebox? I'm surprised by the amount of flow

and very nice looking tank sir:spin2:

good point my return pump and two power heads are on everything is on the same end of the tank as the wavebox. I can say the flow I had before was pretty laminar with minimal action on the surface. Many of the corals were just blowing in one direction and now I'm at least getting some back and forth motion going.

I guess I should post a video of tjust the wavebox in actions

thanks for posting

looks sweet, I had a tunze nano wavebox on my 75g, it was putting out incredible waves once I got it tuned right, I had to turn it down almost to the minimum strength. The best part was that the wave goes behind rocks and overflows, it gets everywhere! But it was rocking my cheap petco stand and it looked bulky hanging there so I sold it on eBay and bought an mp20 instead, but I might want to add an mp10 and hook them up for some wave motion. Right now im running the mp20 on lagoon mode which is random. But the nano wavebox was seriously kickass.
nice tank!

PSTEELEB,

great video.. I cant WAIT to set my wavebox up on my 90gal..

how did you control your powerheads, were they 100% flow all the time? (or did you ocillate them with the wavebox?)

i have a mini wave box in my 90 and only generate a 1/2" wave. I saw an upgrade to a digital controler, and i think i will get that to help get the timming just right. I also have my box in the back, by the look of it maybe i should move it in front of the overflow

thanks - and yes the power heads are on 100% flow full time.

I'm not getting much more then the 1/2" maybe 3/4". At first I thougth I may want more action then the 3/4" but I'm good with it as anymore will just make more of a noise issue with the overflow.
