Question,

I would like to purchase this item for my reef tank but my problem is that my main tank with sump are on the first floor of my house and the resevoir container that holds my RO water is in the basement, i was wondering if they sell this kit with

A. a bigger pump with more head?
B. if there is a way to max out the pump and if it will push about 12 feet?
C. a way to buy this kit minus the pump and add my own pump like a mag 5

also

i am wondering if since ther are 2 sensors if you can use 1 sensor to control the level of the sump water and the other sensor as a back up fail safe sensor, so that if the one sensor never shut off and the water began to fill up the other sensor would detect taht and shut the pump off..

A) With the optional switched socket 3150.11 you can use any pump you like up to 150W.
B) 9ft is the absolute limit.
C) As I said in A, you cannot buy the unit without the pump but that is a nominal cost, the pumps retail seperately for under $20. The 3150.11 costs about $55.

That is exactly how it works, the second sensor is a safety. The IR sensor is the primary, a float switch is a secondary and the third safety is a timer that will not let the pump run more than 10 minutes.

I use the switched socket. It works very well. I am running a mag5 on it.
