Tunze problem

I finally recieved my Tunze nanostreams 6045 in July since then they have run very well with little noise. The other day my girlfriend paged me telling me there was a horrible noise in the tank and one of the "ball" pumps was rattleing.

I opened the pump when I got home and found that the metal shaft had fractured and the small washer at the base was wedged into the wall. Otherwise the pump appeared fine.

Is there a way to fix this problem.

I was referred here because I was told that Roger could give me some insight into repair.

there were problems with the metal used in the first few batches of these pumps. They are now manufacturered at a different location solving the quality issues. Roger will most likely have you send the motor block in and he will send you out a new replacement.

Todd, I can either send you a new motor or you can send yours in for replacement but it sounds like you have the latest version just with the older Chinese shaft so all other parts should move over smoothly if I just sent a motor 6045.10. If you PM me your info we should be able to send it on Monday.

I dont get this...
mounting brackets breaking off like mad, impeller shafts breaking, I thought tunze was top of the line. I waited at least a month to get my nanostream, others told me it was because they test their units thoroughly and yet I see at least 100 posts for faulty equipment.
Yes their customer service is great, thank you roger, but man, for the cost of these items, he shouldnt have to be sending replacement parts to 75% of his customers. Or at the least we should be able to order the parts online, in as large of quantities as we need.

You can order the parts on line. You can order any part on tunze.com. As I have explained before, this product was a radical departure from our past products, it didn't share one single part with anything we had ever made before. It is hard to start from scratch and hit a home run the first time. We have solved all of these issues but there are many pumps out there that were sold early on and we take care of these issues as best we can as they come up. In July the motor itself got a big change with a new shaft and new parts suppliers and the clamp was redesigned and a new one is being sent to anyone who requests it. Unfortunately this tends to be the norm of most new product releases, not just Tunze pumps. Many new model cars have recalls and most new computer software has bugs, it just is the way things go. What makes the difference is getting it taken care of.

AMEN to that Roger!!!! As a parts and service manager for a new car dealer I cant agree with you more. Problems will come with new products....my mechanics LOVE this as it increases their hours but its also about getting the job done quickly and correctly the first time. From what I can see from the posts on this sight I would say your doing a great job!!
