Tunze Pump Placement and recomendation

Hi guys,

Just got my new tank up and running and realised i dont have enough flow for my SPS. the tank is 60x33x20 and I currently have a 7096 with 1 x 6105, 1 x 6125 and 2 x 6025. All pumps are hidden behind the rockwork (excuse the messy cords). I've tried many different placemnts but still have some dead spots.

My thoughs were to get another 6105 and get some good random flow or get a 6205 and remove the 6125. what would be the best placement for the 2 controllable pumps? 6105 or 6205??

I think adding a 6105 to replace the two 6025 would be the way to go, this tank is just too big for the 6025's to do much good.

Hi Roger,

The nanos are just behind the rockwork keeping particles suspended. Where would you place the 2 6105's? are they enough flow? I find my existing 6105 pushes water ok but at 5ft it is very weak.

Make sure your existing 6105 is at full power and 18V on the power supply. It would be odd that it does not have a fair amount of power at 5ft, the flow should carry almost 7ft. The 6205 actually has a shorter reach, about 5.5ft but much wider flow. I would put one in each back corner aimed diagonally across the tank.

thanks again. the 18V jumper is lit up red so does that mean it is running at 18v.

Yes, if you have the 18V jumper installed it is 18V. Double check that the potentiometer knob was not turned down.
