Tunze regulators

My LFS carries Tunze products, and I think I might get the regulator. Its like $77 or close to that.

Question...does the needle valve match up to standard CO2 tubing, or does it use a metric size line?

It depends, about 2 months ago they switched to a really fancy fitting that is like a chrome version of the John Guest fittings on RO units and this will only work with metric airline which can be obtained from Tunze- I stock it in 10m rolls- about 35ft. You can also get it from Schego or Eheim through HAwaiian Marine Imports. The older one which has a nipple with a lock nut will work with either standard or metric. Know that the European fitting on the regulator is different from the american. It has the same thread and will work but you need to use a fair amount of teflon tape and get it snug. A European cylinder is hollow where the regulator couples so the regulator plugs into this hole, American cylinders are flat faced and so it creates a stand off but it will seal completely if you just get it snug and use teflon tape. I use them myself so I can assure you it will work without leaks when put on properly.
