hello,
this is my FIRST tunze product i just recently purchased:
Tunze Master Electric Recirculation Pump 1073.090
and having spent (3 pm to 11pm) this saturday removing my old ampmaster 3000 to this pump because of its reputed lower energy cost AND low noise operation!
i would like to say that the pump is much, much and much...noisier than my ampmaster ever was. my reef friend came over and even said 'is the pump supposed to be that noisy?' he didnt even know it was a tunze.
i am no audiologist...but i am going to guess that it it is well above 80 decibels (maybe because i am just annoyed) and the noise is unacceptable, esp coming from the reputation of tunze.
the second this is that the threading of the input and output is very ill suited to receive regular pvc union threaded fittings. in my case, they have a very slow leak...despite using firm pressure and sufficient teflon tape.
i await your answer to my very frustrating experience with my first tunze purchase!
thank you!
sorry, it should read friday night...
