Would a Tunze Wavemaker work properly in a 240 gal L shaped tank?

Each side of the L is 5 feet long and 24" wide and 24" tall.

Please let me know.

Thanks

I was thinking the same but lets see what Roger chimes in with.

I wouldnt mind testing one out and see the results if no one has ever attempted it without the price tag.

It will give you some wave but not the wave that we all getting from straight across... One side of your tank will have strong wave while the other will receive the after shock :D

I would tend to agree with Steve on his guess on how it would work, but betting ti would be slightly diminshed due to the open area where the two parts meet.

Wonder if putting one on each "end" would work... the would both blow at the same time forcing the water to the central point. but then wonder if they would just end up canceling the return to each.

one option might be to use the waveboxes in alternating sequence? i.e. put one on each end, but have only one WB active at any one time (eg. using a 7095 controller). this way one side of the tank would have a wave, while the other side of the tank will receive the after shock, and then alternate - basically generating alternating wave propagation. Not sure this will work, but wanted to share my thoughts. I'll be curious to know if it works.

I don't think it would work very well, maybe you could borrow one from a local reefer to test it but I suspect that when it hits the L the wave will be lost and just become a bit of turbulence.
