Turbin Snails

With all the reading I have done through the years I have never heard mentioned the rearing of snails.
I have in the neighborhood of 100 miniture snails in my aquarium right now. Is this a common thing or a rare occurance.

i think it happens frequently, as i also have a lot of small snails now in my aquarium

A lot depends on the species. Some have direct development in the egg case and will hatch as miniature snails. Others hatch as veliger larvae (like clams) and have a prolonged planktonic phase which is not likely to settle in the aquarium successfully.
