Turbo Coral Growth... Faster Growing Frags...More Frag Sales

Manny, Dave banked what corals survived the crash. I only ended up with two colonies and a frag that made it unscathed and 6-10 frags to mini colonies that are now growing back but I'll tell you what, I'm convinced I wouldn't have anything left if I wouldn't have had them in the outdoor system. They responded very well to the natural sunlight and RTN stopped on these and reversed. I had him cut frags off the two colonies and the frags grew faster then I've seen frags grow as far as encrusting. Not only that the colors on my yellowish green tort went yellow in the sun. I've exchanged one of the bulbs in my fixture with the 6500k ge t5 and I have the tort at top of tank and directly underneath that bulb to try to keep the yellow and I can see it slowly getting more green although still more yellow. Looks great under my Reefbrites. The blue milli of mine in his outdoor stayed very blue but the growth tips went bright purple. In my tank the blue is great but not getting the purple like it was in his system. I'm starting to collect some acros again and I plan on making frags of all to go into a dedicated rack if he'll let me :)
Awesome... need to get some pieces over to him.

Aquarium Specialty. No algae issue. I took out a coral + and replaced it with the ge. I've been talking with Adam from Battlecorals for a long time and one thing I learned is that he tends to use more lower temp bulbs and settings in his growout tanks. It doesn't make the tank yellow but it does make it brighter like a Phoenix 14k. I like the light color better with the coral+ but I want to try to keep this tort yellow and I have a pikachu piece that I lost about half of but is growing back and I want to bring the yellow out in it. I think the polyps are getting redder.

Interesting.. I think you know scrapz, and his setup is 7 blue plus and 2 purple plus and his yellow sps are some of the yellowest I've ever seen. Let me see if I can find a tank thread from him. There's just so many ways to skin a cat in this hobby.

Thanks for giving me the info. I've been tempted to try a daylight bulb like your GE or even the Giesemann Tropic 6500.

I haven't heard from Vinh for awhile! He must be hanging out on another forum. I also put the ge bulb in to hopefully get growth quicker. I miss my colonies

Great to hear rik.

65k GE, now thats a bulb I have not heard in years. Where did you find one? Did you notice any increase in algae? I always liked the yellow look.

the GE6500 is one of my favorite bulbs. :D

Where did you get it Mike? I looked at Aquarium Specialty, but they want 10 dollars to ship T5s on top of shipping. I didn't see it on any of the other sites with free shipping.
I paid $14.95 for bulb and $8.35 for shipping. No additional charges on shipping
