Two pairs of clowns and two anenomes????

I would appreciate input from everyone as to wether I can easily
put a second anenome in an 8 ft 280 gallon reef along with a second
pair of true percs/ onyx etc....??????

I have a magnifica and a pair of onyx now and I am thinking of a
sebae on the other end of the tank with a pair of whatever type of
clowns perhaps blacks.....I dunno.....

Will it work?

Thanks for your help.

Tim

I think in that size tank you will probably be fine as long as you stick with one of the smaller species like skunks, occys, percs etc..

It could work in your situation. I would make sure the anemone you get is the natural host for the species of clown you buy. This way the clowns would be more likely to stay on their end of the tank.

sounds good

sounds good

sounds good...thanks people.....

again I am just thinking of it..... a downfall is that it would just leave
one more TRAP in my tank for fish.....mmmmmmmmmmmmm

will give this more thought....

thanks again,

Tim

Tim,
The size of your tank is a plus but remember anemones can move and fish can have a mind of there own, and, well just be prepared for the worst if you do this. Ive had clown fish kill each other very quickly even without an anemone to protect, so given the fact that the anemone is there, it can and may cause more trouble.

I recently introduced two naked clownfish into an established reef with many RBTA in it and two black percs that have been together for 5+ years. So far no deaths but the males are fighting like all day long. But the female seems to like all the male attention so she isnt aggresive at all. The reason i think it worked is the naked clownfish's sex had not been determined yet so they most likely will convert to male and the female will have her own harem. Time will tell if this works long term but in my case if it doesnt I will take the naked clowns out before anyone dies and put them into my other reeftank.

Good luck

I have decided against putting a second one in....

Thanks for the input people..... Just too risky I believe.

But seeing that guy's tank that has 20-30 clowns and umpteen anenomes
made me wonder....

Too risky. Decided against.

Thanks
