I never kept them before but decided to try 5 in my Reefer 425XL. Holy cow are they cool... I didn't expect them to look irridescent... What cool fish. Some good things come in small packs and with a good price 😀

Since I got into this hobby I've been saying that I felt they were the most under appreciated fish.

Amazing fish but I've never had luck with multiple ones. There's always one that becomes aggressive and kills the others :(

I have a little group of 3 in my 150. Awesome to see them hanging together. Might pick up a couple more and make it a group of 5.

If you have a group that is currently not in the process of killing each other off I would be hesitate to disturb the balance.

I always tease my brother - they are his favorite fish. He's got rare wrasses, expensive tangs, beautiful dwarf angels. And he loves those silly little $5.00 chromis the best! He's had a "shoal" of three for years and years.

Yeah, I love mine. They taught me how to QT and play relatively well with each other. One thing: I didn't know about the similarities between BG Chromis and Black Axil Chromis until I started to notice slight differences between some of my fish. Turns out I've got 3 of the former and 2 of the latter. Enjoy!

How are your chromis doing? Do you still have all 5?

I started with 8 about four years ago for a 125 gallon tank. They were 1" long. At this time I'm down to four of them. Great active fish. I have tried a few times to add more of them but they never make it through QT. process. The last batch I got from LA. One was DOA two others had open soars on their sides and died within days. Out of the six only one survived. Six months later it shares a QT with a blue reef chromis which I had the same experience with a batch. They both look great but I'm afraid to move them to my DT because they may be carriers.
