a 24x24 x 16" cube, with 2 surge tanks fireing out of the back wall bouncing off the front glass. a single 250 HQI ballast firing a single ended reeflux 12KK lamp. Deep sand bed (except for the front corners where the surges fire). Load it with some zoas or SPS and a gigantea anemone. Those clowns should have the best![]()
A smaller H. mganifica should do well in a 24X24 space. It need lots of current and lots of light. You should avoid in tank PH in a tank this size with a large anemone.Originally posted by OCDP

..... I am up for the challenge of a new species of anemone here, and I have lost interest in carpets because of their reputation for eating fish, and sebae's just don't quite do anything for me as they used to (although I do find them nice, just not nice enough to keep one long-term) .. the Magnifica is looking ideal. The only problem is my tank size..

S. haddoni do eat fish but not clowns that natually associated with it. Clarkii or Saddle back should do fine with a Haddoni carpet.
If you want to keep H. magnifica or S. gigantea, you must se up a tank catter to their need. A gerneric SPS Reeftank if have high flow and high light may be OK for H. magnifica. Reefers thinking of keeping S. gigantea need to tailor their tank to this anemone.
