Hey, I got a piece of candlelight acro from you at lastyears BAR swap. But it's growing up to look nothing like the other pictures I see online.
Could you by chance post a picture of yours so I can compare. Wondering if something got mixed up, or if my lights morphed it or what.

Thanks,
Brian

thank you Mark! I knew that picture was out there, I just couldn't find it. Another guy with a candle light I know has the bright green/yellow tips, but i don't see any purplish coloration in his, and I can in mine, so I wasn't sure.

This is a picture of mine today, This is after putting my tank back together from having the floors done, it was moved into a temporary tank Thursday night, and moved back last night..so might be a tad bit of stress, but still looks pretty close to how it normally does.

Hmmm... See some 'candlelighting' there. Maybe once it's moved from the encrusting to more the branching stage it will exhibit the traditional look...

Could be anything. Every little variable could affect it. My stuff never looks exactly like the pictures, some better, some worse, some nothing like what you'd expect.

That's interesting, Brian. I've never seen purple on mine. Check with Matt (Al G Blenny) with reefready.net. I believe he had an unusual color morph with the Candlelight. I also know that Tyree had some unusual coloration with his version as well.

Ok, I was mainly curious because mine is under a tek T5 fixture, and so far I have seen something color up that wouldn't under other forms of lighting, and I have seen some corals morph a bit.
My nieghbor actually got this piece at last years BAR swap, and his tank wasn't ready, started STN, and I managed to cut the very tip, about 6 to 10 polyps section off of it.
My tank being a little older then his at the time, we hoped it would make it, and it did.
So this is one years growth of a 1/4 inch or less nub under T5 HO's
I was pretty impressed, hope to be able to order some new bulbs soon. That is actually the top, the center piece actually stands a little more then an inch.
