We had a WOMAN steal a coral from the store yesderday. I just wanted to post this because I know she reads this website& let HER know that we know who she is.Hopefully I will never see her again because I'm afraid if I do I'll have to call Fintastic for a bail bondsman

Wow, sorry to hear that. There is a store up in MA that told me they used to have a guy who would come in with plastic bags in his pockets so he could steal corals. They now have a sign posted that says if you're seen with your hands in any tank you'll be asked to leave.

That is to funny! (not that she actually stole)(but that people actually do those things!)

I was actually having that conversation with one of PC's employees last week. I didn't think people actually did it!

Imagine if the bag had a leak....hehehe, someone's peed their pants!!! haha

I swear I haven't been in this week!!!

John, that's just awful - I can't even imagine the cohones of someone who would do that. This world is going to hell in a handbasket.

how does that even happen? I agree that that is SUPER bold because it seems like a surefire way to get caught. It's not like you can reach your hand in water up to your elbow, and put somethign in a bag that you've filled up with water, and tie it up very quickly or without looking suspicious if someone saw you.
sorry to hear that, john

Well,it was from a tub in our new back room that we opened up. TThe tubs aren"t deep & she had a BIG pocketbook. Probably had a cooler in the car . We've had dealings with her before. I think she"s a coral kleptomaniac. She has a big tank,I hope it"s full. It"s time to enter the 21st. century. Security cameras for surety

Sounds like a good reason to run a bit of stray current through the frags tanks!

Alot of corals can be exposed to air for short periods of time so I wouldn't be surprised if this coral was stolen without the benefit of a bag of water in the thief's pocket. Not sure what kind of coral this person stole though so I have no idea if that was an option to them.

I will say that the day that I feel the need to start stealing to support my addiction to the hobby, I'll start shooting heroin instead

lord knows it's cheaper :P

Wow thats crazy..... I wonder if this type of thing goes on at aquariums... Many of them have shallow reef tanks and people stick their hands in the water all the time.

Time to stock that tub with AEFW's, RB's and Nudi's. That truly is unbelievable. Leslie, I'm keeping my eye on you next time we meet. ;)

Still bewildered by the whole thing! People have guts man.

I would die if someone came to our fishroom & pocketed things. What do you even say!

Its very sad that anyone would do that. Especially when there is a connection thru this site - its violating.

I would PM her with a bill.
