hey all, just after a bit of advice.

im willing to spend up to $2500, on a underwater camera..wat is the best setup for that money in your opinion???
ive looked at sea and sea cameras but owning a canon EOS 30D id like to stick with canon if i can make up a quailty setup. e.g camera, housing, strobe.

Hi dougie,

Given your budget, you could choose to house your 30D. I have a 30D as well (and had a budget similar to yours) and decided to get an Ikelite housing for it. Ikelite is a good company (no affiliation other than a satisfied customer) and their products seem to preform as advertised. On my first trip, I shot with the housing using only availible light (with a Magic-Filter) and now have a stobe for my second underwater photographic trip. The housing is about $1,100 to $1,200 (without port) and the strobe (DS-160 - Ikelite's newest... an up-grade to the classic DS-125) was about another $1,200 or so.

For the money, if you decide to house your 30D, you'd have a very capable rig.

Hope that helps.
