unidentified clown changing color..

a buddy of mine recently set up his first sw tank and his first fish was a clown. it was given to him by someone who purchased it as a misbar. it was less than a half inch when he got it and did not have any black on him. since he's grown its changing black, could somebody help id it for us??

Just a regular perc, Amphiprion percula. Might end up being an onyx perc. Only time will tell.

A. Percula or an off shot but could be A. Ocellaris as well but I would caution on the side of Perc

It's a percula... The black might get darker as it age... Plus the eyes says it all... Although not always 100% this is why you look at other features too. Like the darkening of body etc.

That's a percula. Looks like a tank raised offspring of a Solomon/Papua New Guinea pair or possibly an Onyx pair.

It all depends on age... Usually the third bar doesn't fully barred/connect until 8+months.

I thought onyx comes from SI & PNG... And not all that come from there are onyx (full black from head to tail) not just half black.
