Unofficial poll on tank temp.

Not an officall poll thread where you can vote, but I would like to get ideas on what others keep their tanks at. My heater does +/- 1 degree instead of tenths. So I set it at 79 degrees. This means the heater is off until it drops to 78. Then it turns on and heats the tank to 80 at which point it turns off. Keeps going in this cycle. I guess to avoid constant on off is my guess why they did this? No fish yet, just snails, but will have a pair of clowns in about 6 weeks.

So what do you guys keep your tanks at?

79. Seems like the ideal number. It can fluctuate 2 degrees in either direction and still be in optimal range.

For the people that run 82+ is that by choice or dependent on the room temp. I guess what I'm asking is that are you purposefully varying the temperature in the tank?

Mine holds between 77-79.

I am not sure what is ideal. Mine is sitting around 80. No matter how I adjust my heater, it seems to stay there. I may get a Controller to help manage those temps and many other things.

Mines at 79-81. The good thing us that I don't have heaters in the water.heats off return pump.summertime I'm gonna have to take the pump out if water and run it externally.
