Upcoming fish list for my 120

Well here is my fish list for my upcoming 120 gallon tank. I was going to go with a 150 but i decided to play it safe and go with a 120 instead. :D Let me know what you guys think. Tony

1)Black Tang
2)Chevron Tang
3) Potters Angel
4)Fishers Angel
5)Tinkers Butterfly/Mitratus Butterflyfish
6Yellow belly regal angel
7) Mystery wrasse

If you want all those fishes, you ought to go with a 150. For a 120, I would take out one of the larger fish.

I'm assuming you got the 4ft 120? That will be to small for the tangs when they get larger.

I am curious about this accessment. Is a 4ft 120g that much smaller than a 6ft 125g aquarium? Seems like all the measurements are taking into account only lateral swimming space but not the width of the tank. In a 125g, the fish can pretty much swim back and forth. In a 120g, they can swim more in a lap by circling the tank. As long as a tang does not grow to more than 8", I do not see a problem with keeping one or two in a 120g.

Too small of a tank for that bioload. Here's what I got in my 120.
-small yellow and purple tang
-coral beauty
-flame hawk
-small niger trigger
-goby

The 4' 120 makes up most of the difference in height, not depth, so it ends up being far less swimming space. I have a 5' 120 and wish I had a 6' 125.

I appreciate all the feed back I got about this list. I think that I may have to chose a couple smaller fish or just leave the way I have it. I still have a while to go on cycling so i am sure I will plenty of time to think about it. I'll have to do some more research. Thanks again Tony

ahh another reefer from the great land! do you already have the black or have a seller? they seems hard to find and expensive so if thats a fish you hope to get, i would cross that one off and call the list good.

an off note: are you familiar with the local reefing club Alaska Frag Swap? i dont recognize your username. check it out at www.alaskafragswap.com (have to do the www or it wont load properly).
