Update on Trilby Tropicals

I stopped by Trilby Tropicals on Monroe St. Their saltwater section is built and the tanks are filled. They are almost done cycling and will put some fish in soon to be sure they are ready and shortly after that they will be stocking up.

It is a big place, but their specialty is FW. I don't expect their SW section to be that big.

How did it look, John?

I couldn't get into the saltwater section, as it was roped off. But it looks like it's going to be the size of some small LFS's.

kind of funny that this was brought up.....i was in gary's place yesterday and he(gary) was getting some crabs for me when one of his helpers said that he had a phone call from trilby tropics....the guy was calling his competition to get some pointers on how too set up saltwater tanks....gary's helper and I were talking and he said that trilby tropics was going to be bigger and have more tanks then gary's!!! i just thought that it was kinda funny that trilby was calling gary, his competition!!! can't wait to see what the new section will bring. i dont know the truth in what his helper said because i have never been in trilby tropicals.

That is very strange!

Does anyone know them at Trilby well? Perhaps we should approach them to sponsor us.

I don't know them super well. I bought all my f/w there when I had a 29 gallon f/w tank. I do know that they were meticulous about having quality, disease free stock.

That's a good idea, I also have been thinking, if it's in the club's marketing budget, perhaps we should give t shirts to the sponsors to wear at work?

About time, they have only been working on it since the store first opened in the new location. I go to Trilby to get my PE mysis (that is some good stuff).

I stopped in today. They had 4 rows with about 7 tanks in each row, plus 2 on the ends that I could see. My guess is about 30 55g or 75g tanks. The lady said the're still a few weeks away from being ready.

I don't know them very well but my boss has worked with them quite a bit to get some freshwater stuff like white blotched stingrays and some other hard to get freshwater stuff. I usually go in there to pick up stuff for my brother in law that lives in B.G. I have always stopped into thier store even before they moved the second time on Alexis Rd. I stopped in about two week ago and told them if they were good I would get my boss to let me give them some frags from my propagation tank.:)

Brad

You just be sure and let me know when you do that. :)

I promise to vote for the levi...

I would love to start "getting rid" of some of my frags. My boss can be kind of particular about sending animals to the public or dealing with local fish stores. I'm going to see what he says I'm sure he will want some kind of trade.

Brad

I have lots of good stuff to trade :)

No big deal either way if your boss is funny about it.

The club would love to work out a good relationship with the zoo :)
