Updated Equipment List (got a bigger tank!)

Ok guys so my last post was about getting a 10 gallon tank and I got some great help and decided to go bigger. So I got a 29 gallon tank (for free!) but it's tempered so I can't drill. I am leaning against my 10 gallon sump because a siphon seems a recipe for disaster (flows not matching up, losing siphon ect).

Here are my equipment. (that I am planning to buy)

One 528gph wave maker
One HOB filter to run carbon and flow
One HOB protein Skimmer
20 Pounds live sand
20 Pounds life rock (to start will add more but just to start!)
Lights
Hydrometer or Refracto probably refracto seems better.

This will be for soft, easy corals only and a couple fish (NOT heavy bioload!)

Thanks guys!

You sure it's tempered all the way around? I hated my HOB skimmer, if I did something that made my skimmer overflow it went all over the floor.

If it were me I'd go HOB overflow, lifereef makes a good one or if it's not tempered all the way around drill it. It's nice to not have all that stuff hanging from the tank.

Or consider going skimmerless, just do water changes more frequently

Small tanks are easily managed with small water changes alone...no filters...no skimmers..
Just a powerhead or 2 for flow..
Do 5g changes every 2-4 weeks and keep bioload low and enjoy..
I did that with a 40b reef and it was easy to maintain and felt great to not worry..
