Updated Photos of 2 Gallon Cube

Ninja,
Props again on the tank.
Build us another one so i can link it on utahreefs.com
I have already linked this on my local site twice to look cool. (oh and to show everyone your awesome creation )
Great idea! I am saving my canister to copy exactly what you did but with 10 gallons.
Thanks again,
You are a great Canadian

Ryan,
Thanks man. I've got a lot of old buddies down in Utah too. If I ever do make another tank I will be sure to let you know. If I do anything it would probably be a switch to a 9" cube. I would mod the largest cannister filter I could find and then run the return line through a SCWD and two return bulkheads. I have been thinking about that lately because I have noticed that the anemone crab doesn't ever move but spends his life on the rock above the return bulkhead - catching goodies as soon as they enter the tank. Lazy guy :p .

Very Beautiful and well planned!

I had to chuckle tho when you said you sold one of your home systems to buy the top off setup for this little one!:D

I am getting ready to set up my 10 g nano in my bedroom. I am going with the 10" wide HOB aquafuge..so hopefully anything I need to can be put in there, with a clean looking front (altho it won't look as sweet as yours!):)

Thanks for sharing!

What do you clean your glass with? Any way you can link me? I don't want an unsightly mag float sitting in my nano.

Thanks.

I just killed about an hour at work reading this entire thread.
Can't stop looking at the whole in the granite topping one of my file cabinets and thinking i could easily put some pipe through there.

Amazing tank!

Amazing tank!

Do it, do it! The entire file cabinet could be full of hidden equipment. After all, do you really need those files... I doubt you will get audited...

Update:

THe new 20k bulb is performing beautifully and I just added an orange ricordia and purple-polyp birds nest to the tank. Now my livestock are:

zoanthids (six of my best colors)
button polyp
colt
pulsing xenia (two kinds)
devils's hand
candycane
frogspawn
green monti digitata
purple monti digitata
orange monti caps
purple monti caps
bird's nest
riccordia (green and orange)
mushrooms (1 green, 1 blue, 1 red and 1 fuzzy)
green star polyp
2 sexy shrimp
1 nerite snail
4 cerith
4 stomatella

I have found that the birdsnest look much better in the tank than the montipora because its thinner branches are more purportional to such a small tank.
I know I promise it more often than I deliver, but I will post some updated pictures...

Which species of ricordia do you have, yuma or florida? Also, your new birds' nest sounds really nice. Do you have a picture?

Thanks SBC.
Spiff,
I will have to get you a photo of everything - especially the riccordia because I do not know how to tell the difference between florida and yuma (rics - especially nice ones - are not very common where I live so I don't have a lot of experience with them). I will take my camera with me to work tomorrow and grab a couple shots.

The thing I love about this hobby is that no matter how small an aquarium is (2 gallons, in this case...), the job is NEVER done! I bet you have spent an average of a week or two per cubic inch on that thing. Join the club!

Thanks Spiff! The detail isn't very clear, thanks to the 50k file size limit but I hope you get the picture. I am trying to figure out how to post video to my own webspace. Should have a better video out soon.

For the photos you could always register with photobucket.com, which is free. Then you can copy the url from the pages with the specific photos you want and then just use the image pasting function when you post.
