Updated Photos of 2 Gallon Cube

Thanks for getting back to me. The system stays pretty steady as far as temp goes - but I don't want to speed up the metabolism on my mantis too much and have him expire before his time. I might pull one of the bulbs just to bring it down to 80. Before the switch the tank stayed a constant 78F with only one bulb and the smaller filter. When I first set it up and both bulbs were burning the temp was 80F. I am guessing replacing the second bulb brought it up 2 degrees and the larger filter motor accounts for the extra 2 degrees of heat. I don't mind running only the one bulb, it just means that I will have to check it more often, cause there wouldn't be a back up if it burned out.
Well collegues, do you concur?

Just to let you know, I disconnected one of the bulbs yesterday and it looks like the temperature is back at 80F. I will watch it, but I am pretty confident that it will stay at that temp. The tank is located in a government office building and the temp stays pretty constant.
Cheers,

You know, I am not sure. I think that the building is all the sme temp. Infact, we need to call downtown to fleet and facilities for them to change the temp as it can't be done from our location... I think...

Vanmo,
No problem at all. Infact, if this thread is longer people might think there is something worth reading in it.... :p
Thanks for the compliment.

Heck, I just won a nano building contest on another forum and I still get inspired reading about your cute little nano. I'm trying to psyche myself to set one up too.

Wow, is that a Ricordia I see in there? 'Cause that's about the only thing in there other than rock :p. Really cool (outdone yourself this time, at least in engineering...make that novelty).

Spiff,
Ya it is actually a very nice ricordia that I transferred to my cube. At the height of its bio-load, the spere also supported a hermit crab. And you are right, the tank is more a novelty than anything... I just might try it again some day...

Steel,
Welcome to RC! And thank you for reading my thread. I hope that you found something useful here to help you when (not if) you set up your tank :p .
Cheers,

Thanks for the welcome...

I certainly did learn from your thread...

I won't be setting up the tank until I finish the remodelling of my sunroom, then once that is complete I can focus on a tank...

I am in need of some help. I have been looking and looking for a lamp that would work to hold a 70 retro, just like yours is set up, but i cant find anything.... Can some one please, post a link to a lamp that would work!!! Thanks!!!!
