Nice looking tank scapes. Just wondering what lfs stores are in your area now. For the last few years there have been limited places to buy local livestock. They are few and far between in North al.

thanks!
we have two LFS's that sell corals/fish. Atlantis Aqauariums(AA) and Aquarium Fantasies(AF). There's really alot to say, it's just easier to direct you to our webiste. www.montgomeryreefclub.com. I've put up pictures so you can get a general idea. AF is the largest store in the state and he also just opened a store in Bham, and AA is a side business that Dave runs. It's smaller, but he has a ton of sps frags. There's another guy who does not have a commercial business but has some LARGE tanks that he sells from. It is definately worth the trip down here. I would pick a Saturday and come on down. You give me a date and I can hook you up with all three-wanna make sure they're there to help ya.

If you join the MRC club for $20, you'll get a 10% discount at all three for the full year on all livestock. :bounce3: That is just an option, you don't have to

edit: i obviously have to do a little updating on our website. We've had a couple months off, so not much going on to update. But, now I do so I guess I'll get on it soon :). but there are pics up for you to see & all their contact info, with the exception of the last guy i was telling you about (pm me when you need it)

Very nice! Is that clam sitting in the sand or is it attached to the rocks?

thanks Ramses! what clam are you asking about???? i have six...;) but the only two that are really visible in the pics are the gigas and maxima. The gigas doesn't have a foot so it's just sitting on the sand. I just got the maxima last weekend at Atlantis Aquariums and it will eventually latch onto the rock if it hasn't already.

if you're talking about the gigas, it's just so big it can't fall over. my other 4 clams on the sand (1 hippopus, 2 derasas, and 1 squamosa) do fall over. the bigger they are, the sheer size keeps them upright

updates:

i ordered two bluish hammers, will be getting them tomorrow. can't wait!!

i also changed out one of my 80w t5 bulbs due to old age to a giesmann aqua pink bulb. never seen one before and thought i'd try it. it's really cool! when the t5's kick in, that one bulb, out of 4, produces so much pink that for about an hour i have a pink tank! pretty neat

Thanks! No, I don't spot feed. I feed phytoplankton and cyclopeeze several times a week along with all the other foods I throw in for the fish

I snagged a gorgeous Maxima from Dave a few weeks ago, it's doing great!!

How long have you had yours?

:p ha! i got mine from dave as well as last months meeting. so i've had mine since 2/27 I believe. it's doing well, i have it up high in the rocks.

got a new and WONDERFUL acquisition a few weeks back....

he has been passed around a few of the MRC folks and after a year, i FINALLY got my hands on him. i have been pulling my teeth out with aptasia for 4 years and now i've finally gotten a remedy!!! yes he's in my 180g but so far in three weeks he has eradicted all but 2 aptasia and they will be gone shortly i'm sure. i had tons of these buggers...i'm so excited :)

But once all the aptasia are gone, will he start eating polyps?
