Lovin the pic of the hermit crab!!!

mhucasey - Thanks! Simple pic of an amazing creature.

Everything looks great, Brad!

Hope to catch up soon.

Eric - We are overdue. Hope your photo lessons went good at the FRAG meeting today.

Yw. Thank you for sharing your piece of the reef

stevenmiller - Thanks for checking it out! Love having a place to share my reef.

Had an opportunity to see this tank in person today (and get two unbelievably generous frags). The tank is absolutely stunning, but what you notice most is how fat the fish are while still having a spotless tank and beautiful coral coloration. This tank is absolute proof that with the right nutrient export you can really have it all!

Ted - Thanks for the kind words and thanks for making the trip over to the house. I'm happy to have sent some nice corals home with you.

Hey. Excellent project. As well, and the previous one, is the attention to detail and the little things. And most importantly a great result, it is the handwriting of the master.
I wanted to ask a question, it was possible to make for using loops and esdi yes then why is visible on the side of the pump 40 vortech?
I am sorry if the answer was somewhere ..

June 19th, 2016 - Photo Update

Happy Father's Day! I'm getting around to a photo update here on my reef journal. I'd like to share a few photos of some of the chalices that I have in the tank. I really like the color variation and texture that these corals have. Thanks for looking. Views and comments are always appreciated.

Aleks - My apologies, as your English is much better than my Russian but I'm not sure what you are asking me in regards to the vortech pumps. If it's in regards to hiding the cord or running it up to the top of the tank and then down the corner, I find this to be equally unappealing then just running it right back down.

Stunning!
Like sitting on a hill in Hawaii, on acid watching a lava flow..
Love it!

June 23rd, 2016 - Photo Update

Been a bit since my last update. Here is a quick photo upload of some of my recent shots. Thanks for the views and comments.

Lime in the Sky - Love the details captured here

WWC Flame Thrower - This coral keeps getting nicer and nicer!

RR Orange Passion - Just a frag but have very high hopes

JF Fox Flame - This one's been growing great as of late

Scolly Macro

Jaw Breaker Mushroom - My one and only mushroom

Nice as always!
I am very curious to see how your orange passion develops under your lighting.
I have one under t5 only and it has retained its classic blue tips, yellow/green body and orange polyps but the one I have under t5/mh with some blue supplemental led has lost the orange polyps.

Man where's the like button on this thing?
Nice work and great inspiration. Thanks for the updates

SUPAkg - I like the comment better than a like. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

What are you using for your sand bed?

I use the CarribSea Special Grade Reef Sand

Nice as always!

reefmutt - Thanks for the comment. That coral has been in my tank for a few months now. Super slow grower but it has not lost any color. I think it's gonna stay about like the photo.

Your tank is looking beautiful as always. Keep it coming.

Just noticed that you run 2 pure actinic bulbs. Any reason why you went with those instead of two more Blue bulbs?

Mr. Fish Tank - thanks for the reply. I like a little less overwhelming light. When all 8 tubes are on with the LEDs it's pretty overwhelming. The actinics take a bit of that away. I guess with all that said, it's for my own viewing pleasure. I still seem to have plenty of light for the corals.

Enter the solution - Harlequin Shrimp - You have some work to do

Beautiful! Especially the first pic. I love how the green centre section looks like it's flowing out over the purple/blue part.
Are you still focus stacking?

Matt - Thanks for the reply. I have not photo stacked in a long time. These recent shots were just single shots.
